Economic Jitters

With the roller coaster ride our economy has been on, this year especially, it is easy to panic and to make hasty and bad investment decisions based on fear. We all have a responsibility to stay educated about what’s going on, but not to be too caught up in emotions. I believe we sometimes need to remember that we are not alone. If you need to refocus on what’s important, or need a word of encouragement or new perspective, this message is for you.

No matter what happens in life – even the worst, God is there. Nothing catches Him by surprise. We need to depend on God, no matter what the forecast, outlook or actual situation.

Be wise, but place your decisions and the outcomes and your future in God’s hands. He has a plan to move you on to the next level of success (and relationship with Him) in your life. That includes taking care of you even in the down times.

Whether you’re going through challenges in your finances, health, or relationships, God’s ultimate goal is to bring you closer to Him, to shower you with his love, and to reveal more of his awesome nature to you through the “unfoldings” of each day.

Trust in Him like a little child. Put your hand in his and walk in faith with Him. He sees the road ahead and will guide you on the way. There are many potentially harmful things that He has already kept you from, and many more things that He will protect you from. Take a moment to thank Him for that!

So continue walking in faith and trust, maintaining the two-way dialogue, so that you both listen and obey, as you walk with Him. Only God knows what’s around the corner. Your listening and obedience will save you from a boatload of trouble!
